No matter how hard or far or accurate your cast. How elaborate the neon spiral carved through crisp morning atmosphere. How wet or dry your socks. How amber your glasses.
No special maneuver. No wise old vetran’s trick. No wily fox’s smile is as important as mastering the retrieve. How you bring line and lure back to you affects the type of fish likely to chase the bait. Retrieval technique is the key to unlock the hook. To hold the hook forth as offering to anxious hungry beasts. It looks like food. It moves like food. Gulp! There’s a barb in me throat!
